The Background of Chef Aqram Othman

Chef Aqram Othman is the Senior consultant for Halal-HORECA division. By training, he is chef. Graduated from UiTM in Bachelor’s Degree of Culinary Arts Management, he then further his knowledge and skill by venturing into numerous kind of soft skills and advance training programs, such as Food Safety Management system, ISO 22000 by SIRIM, HACCP and Halal Malaysia by SIRIM and the most biggest challenge was the Certificate In Safety & Health officer by NiOSH Malaysia. He passed all the programs with distinction. For the past 9 years, he had been involved in various kind of industry namely hospitality, plantation, safety & health as well as higher education for hospitality majoring for culinary arts courses. The last position before venturing into own consulting business was Culinary Arts lecturer Cum Halal Executive. Developing halal system and supervise the Halal implementations was part of his job scope back.

Learning is not an option for him. So he went to Indonesia to further his understanding on the requirements and implementations of Halal Majelis Ulama’ Indonesia (MUI). After 2 days of class and 1 day competency exam, he passed the LPPOM MUI exam with flying colors.
